How we work

HÃ¥llbart Universitet follows a transparent and democratic organisational principle. The internationality of our members and the diversity of study programmes represented by people engaged in HU, allows us to be very open for new projects, actions, methods and other ideas.

Due to this internationality the working language at our organization is English. HU members are studying for example Environmental Sciences, Human Ecology, National Economics, Sustainability Sciences and Political Sciences. Together with various experiences in social movements all over the world and expertises in NGO-skills like media work or fundraising makes every single participant unique and gives inspiration to the others. HU is a platform to learn from each other and to start together new things to make a difference on this planet.

Regular meetings, working groups, board meetings

Next to our regular meetings (for general discussion, news, announcements, gatherings) the various workings groups meet according to their own schedule. They are planning and implementing their own projects. Every working group, e.g. Nation Frog, City Tours, Movie Screenings, has a spokesperson, who is responsible to represent the project during the regular meetings (e.g. short updates). Each project is open for everyone, who wants to join the group. The HU board meets twice a semester and keeps an eye on our financial situation, prepares the annual meeting (e.g. elections, Annual Action Plan) and discusses HU’s strategies and changes in the organization. The decision making power is owned by all members of HU; decisions are done during the regular meetings.
