City tour on sustainable consumption!

Today, 4pm in the afternoon we organize another of our

INCREDIBLY AWESOME, NOT TO BE MISSED

City Walk of Sustainable Consumption!

Today, Thursday, May 5
16:00 – 17:30

We start at Om-Tanke, next to OnOff and Erikshjälpen Second Hand Shop, on Stora Södergatan 27.

The tour will be held in English.

What impact do our usual consumption patterns have on the environment, locally and globally? Where in Lund can I get clothes made of fair trade and organic cotton? Where to buy local and seasonal vegetables? Do you know already all of Lund’s fantastic Second Hand Shops?

We will answer these and more questions in this tour, which instead of visiting tourist sites, will show you different places in Lund, where you can find out about the social and environmental impacts that the production and consumption of goods have – like a pair of jeans, a computer, a cup of coffee or a steak.

We will point out alternatives and local examples for sustainable consumption, showing how you can make a difference through your choice as consumer!

Remember: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world!” (Margaret Mead)

Clothes and book swap at ABC this Saturday!

Hejsan happy people!

Lund Students for Sustainability would like to let you know that our dear friends in the ABC World Fair Trade store are arranging a clothes and book swap this Saturday February 19 at 12 noon to 3 pm!

Do you have a couple books in the book shelf that you probably won’t read again in the near future? And maybe some pieces of clothing way back in the wardrobe that you don’t really use anymore? Bring them and make someone else happy by letting them get the find of the week!  :D   All things must be handed in before noon on Saturday, meaning before the swapping starts. You can just come by the ABC store during the week and drop your things off when they’re open, which is Mon-Fri 12-6 pm and Sat 12-4 pm.

Exchanging clothes and books with each other instead of buying brand new things is a great way of saving nature’s resources as well as your wallet! So come on over to Winstrupsgatan 3 in Lund (between the station and the law faculty, close to café Gräddhyllan) on Saturday between noon and 3 pm and see what you can find!
